ED "PADDY" GILL RIP

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the tragic passing of Ed “Paddy” Gill. Ed was involved in an accident on his farm outside Sydney, Australia, and passed away over the weekend. His family is understandably devastated by this loss.

Ed was back in the UK for a year not too long ago, and many of us had the pleasure of seeing him at the Jollies or at the rugby club during one of the pre-rugby lunches.

It was wonderful to see him during his visit, and he remained in touch with several old boys who were planning to visit him later this year.

Ed was one of the founding members of the notorious “Mean Machine” 3rd team Old Boys rugby side of 1984-85.

Ed’s funeral will be held in Australia. He was married to Cathy and had a daughter Pip and a son Charles. Ed had a deep love for gold Capris and Wham! He left Fisher at the end of the 5th year and worked for Barclays before moving to the city, eventually ending up with Hays Recruitment, running South East Asia.

He did well for himself, with a nice house in Sydney and a farm in the Australian countryside. Ed was a legendary flanker for the Old Boys A team and a tight head prop at school. He also had a house in Wimbledon.

Please join us in remembering Ed and keeping his family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time
