RIP Andy “Chewie” Greenhalgh

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the tragic passing of Andy “Chewie” Greenhalgh, who passed away suddenly on Easter Saturday April 4th 2026.

Andy attended the school in the 1990 era, and went on to play rugby for many years, including for the 1st team as second row for the John Fisher School Old Boys. He was well known, and will be fondly remembered, for his trademark flowing ginger locks.

He built a close and loving family life in Purley, remaining near and devoted to his parents. Andy leaves behind his wife, Steph, and their three splendid sons — Matt, Daniel, and Jacob — all of whom proudly followed in his footsteps at The John Fisher School. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother Jim, sister Joanne, and their families. Rest in Peace and all our love from the Fisher Family

His Funeral will be held at St John The Baptist Church in Purley on May 12th at 12 pm. Please join us in remembering Andy and keeping his family in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
